Bamidbar-

Pasuk- From the age of 30, and over.
Paskuk-From the age of 25, and over.
Rashi-Why the double standard?
Rashi- The classes on the Cohanut start at 25-end at 30.
Meiri-If a person is diligent in his studies he will succeed. Therefore he says, his answer makes sense.
Rav Lebovitz-What do Meiri's, and Rashi's answer have to do with each-other?
Rav Lebowitz-No Jew will not succeed in Torah, IF he studies hard. And we should try hard in Torah, and we will succeed. Guten Shabbos!

Behar, Behukotai-

Numbers 26:3
"If you go on the path of my laws, and my commandments you shall guard, and you shall fulfill it".
Why does it say 'guard', and 'fulfill"? Shouldn't it say either guard, or fulfill? The Baal Haturim, and Rash"i both point out that "Im Behukotai Telechu"-If you go on the path of my laws, is the same numerical value of "Amelim B'Dvrei Torah"-Deep in the words of Torah. Rash"i explains, that this isn't any regular things, like the "Halacha Yomi", that I post, this is hardcore stuff. An example would be "Ubertorato Yehegeh Yomam VaLailah"-In his Torah, you shall delve in day, and night. There was a Mashal(Parable). A scientist used to live in his house all day doing experiments. One day after years, and years he decided to leave his house. He went ballistic! The Rambam writes in Moreh Nevuchim(Guide to the perplexed), about people balancing out life, to be controlled with Torah, and "exercise" . We can not just be Amok-Deep in Torah all day, because we will go crazy, and not be able understanding the Torah, and function according to the Mitzvot. So if we take "fulfill", and "guard", and add them up we get fulfill-Learn Torah, and guard-"Exercise". We should learn to live our lives according to this Passuk! Amen!
